Dans Green Pink Caviar, Marilyn Minter ne s’éloigne pas trop de l’une de ses thématiques favorites: la bouche. Ce n’est que la bande-annonce, mais ça donne déjà une bonne idée du projet final.

“I was shooting stills of models with long tongues swirling and sucking bakery products from under a pane of glass. I wanted to make enamel paintings along the idea of ‘painting with my tongue’. My makeup artist shot some short videos during the shoot just to see how it would look. The low definition videos looked so good that we made plans to do a professional high definition video. This made sense to me as I have made both billboards and produced a commercial advertising a painting show in 1989.”

Kanye West nous offre Street lights, son plus récent vidéoclip réalisé par Javier Longobardo. C’est ma chanson favorite de l’album 808’s and Heartbreak, et j’attendais impatiemment de voir comment il allait transposer le tout en vidéoclip. Personnellement, je n’aurais pas opté pour un dessin animé, mais l’environnement graphique du clip est tout de même intéressant.

Plus tôt aujourd’hui, j’ai demandé à Jon de m’écrire quelques lignes sur ce qu’il l’avait motivé à écrire cette chanson, et voici sa réponse:

Well, when I heard that Michael Jackson died it didn’t really affect me.  I’ve been waiting for it for a while now (I didn’t dislike him, but I wasn’t a huge fan either).  As a society, we chased the monster into the cave and we wouldn’t let him out, so how long can someone live like that?  I’ve never really believed that he was a pedophile, and even if he was, if you look into it, the kid’s parents involved encouraged it to happen (for obvious reasons).

Anyway, I don’t give a fuck about any of that.  I got really pissed off when I saw how the media was responding to his death.  All of a sudden the same people who for years were slamming him mercilessly into the ground, were calling him “God’s gift to the world”.  Everywhere it was the same (well, still is).  It made me sick to my stomach.  So when I get angry, I write songs.  And that’s what I did.  Fucking two-faced media, opportunist pigs…  The song’s not even really about Michael.  Most people get that, but some people think I’m just shitting on the guy.  Well, I don’t know, some people are just stupid.  What can I say…
